The owners of this house in Haddonfield, New Jersey were looking to refresh the look of their early 1900’s home. We reviewed multiple color pallets and siding styles with the owners to arrive at an ensemble with plenty of curb appeal. The matte gray metal patio roof and cherry wood door go well with the slate blue color of the siding.
We reused the existing brick foundation at the main entrance patio stair and replaced the landing and stairs with a long lasting, low-maintenance material. The new patio roof ties into the existing mansard roof at the entrance door. We accented the soffit with an engineered wood to both match the landing and stair material while highlighting the curve.
The areas of siding are divided into three parts to break up the facade and provide interest. The main floor is horizontal, while the second floor is covered with a vertical shake style. The side gables at the attic are clad in a fish-scale pattern shingle material in a white color. Window trim was replaced throughout and the existing frames and grids were painted to compliment the new palette.
