On the Boards: Gloucester County Animal Hospital

The Gloucester County Animal Hospital in Sewell, New Jersey was in need of a complete renovation to expand their facility to meet a growing demand for their services.  We collaborated with Mac Designs to provide a new addition and a complete reorganization of interior spaces to give the building a major upgrade.

We expanded the reception and waiting area to provide enough space to separate cats from dogs and to make the check-in process easier.  The renovation includes four new exam rooms and a central triage area for quick assessments.  The hospital will have two surgical suites, a dental suite, and radiology/ultrasound room to provide a variety of services.  Offices were created on the second floor, which was a former apartment suite.  Dog washing and food storage operations are now in the expanded basement along with utilities and other storage needs.

The exterior received a complete refresh with the addition of multiple windows to maximize interior daylight.  A new entrance vestibule is prominently located on axis to the parking lot to provide a clear entry into the facility.  A stone water table and composite siding/shingle design is carried throughout the perimeter to blend the new addition into the existing building.  The interior renovations have begun and the completed facility should be open in the spring of 2019.
