Storefront Refresh

We have been working with the Housing and Economic Development manager at Esperanza on multiple facade renovation projects along North 5th Street in Philadelphia.  The storefront of Centro De Llamadas Rebeka holds one of the most prominent locations in the area being a corner building with high visibility.  Rebeka Envia applied to the Storefront Improvement Program from the Philadelphia Commerce Department for assistance in renovating the facade of their early 1900’s building.  Broken windows and faded awnings did not create the welcoming environment that the shop owners needed to boost business.

A bold color scheme accents the intricate detailing of the many window bays along the second floor.  Cornices and details also utilize the daring scheme to transform the building to become a draw for the business.  Window and awning replacements were vital to not only refreshing the exterior character but also improved the insulation and operation of the space as we utilized insulated dual pane glass to replace the single pane units.  Open security gates replaced solid panel gates that didn’t operate well in their tracks and were a maintenance nightmare.  We used the awnings to hide the gate housings so that they blend into the background and provide security at night.

We are excited to see this fast-moving project transform the corner and provide another bright spot along the 5th street corridor.
